Team Challenges
With Well U you can participate as an individual or create a team with your department. You can even challenge other departments to see who can circle the island the fastest.
Creating a team
If you would like to create a team (group) email us at support@stepsout.com with a subject line “Create a new team”.
Include in your email:
- a fun team name ensuring that it includes either the name, or the four-letter code (if applicable) of your faculty, department, office, centre or group,
- the name of the faculty, department, office, centre or group, and
- the contact information (name, phone and email) for the Team Lead. Team Leads must be Registered Users.
For more information, please refer to Team Leads below.
Things to consider
When creating your teams consider the following:
- Pick the right number of people for your team to make it fun. Remember your team will progress around Vancouver Island based on the average steps logged. Therefore, team work and partnership is important.
- If you are part of a large faculty, department, office, centre or group, you may want to consider creating a number of teams. This allows for inter-office challenges.
- If possible, teams should not be smaller than 4 people.
- The progress of your team will be visible to all Registered Users (Group Maps and Group Activity)
Team Leads are important for the success of Well U. The purpose of establishing Well U Team Leads is to assist each faculty, department, office, centre or group in demonstrating the University’s commitment to environments for work and study that are safe, supportive, inclusive and healthy … (UVic Strategic Plan, Mission)
